Hi there, I can code the search function using php builtin array functions. File gets read into an array and each one gets split into a subsequent array by the | delimiter. The integrated solution I see would be an all-in-one script (search via ajax, without page refresh) that you can call with include in any wp page you want. An evil user shouldn't be able to do anything since your flat file / database will be just read by the php/webserver user and not rewritten.
