As far as functionality, we need the site to do the following: Search for tires by size Search for tires by car (make, model, year) Browse all tires without specifying size or car type (basically bypass the two search options above) Have a sidebar where you can filter based on multiple criteria such as brand, size, etc (this page would be after the homepage) Maintain a database of inventory Link to one or more database for tire size info as well as sale prices (database needs to be purchased) NOTE: one database will be the db of tire sizes based on car. The output of that query will reference a price for the specific tire. Show customers when a specific item is out of stock Have login system for our users. We will need 2 user databases, one for retail and one for business/wholesale Allow customers and business to build a profile Allow customers to use social media to sign in Show different prices based on whether the customer is a wholesale/retail customer Allow guest checkout (for retail customers that don’t want to create an account) Allow quick registration/account creation at checkout Have a shopping cart (items should be able to be deleted from the cart directly, during checkout review) Show previous purchases for a logged in customer (with option for repeating a previous order) Allow secure purchases directly from the site with different shipping methods (ship to home address, specific local tire shop, etc) At checkout, calculate shipping and taxes based on zip code Allow a discount code to be applied to price and new price recalculated Allow business customers to be able to download all transactions via CSV format Be API ready - meaning that we may have to get data from our distributors (product availability, prices, etc), add our profit to the price and show the new price on the site. Show a list of tire shops and their services to retails customers, to be added before final checkout Allow customers to schedule a time and date for a repair at a specific shop Allow tire shops to be ranked (star system) Produce a confirmation code for the sale (for tracking) Allow Tire shops to create profiles on our site - from their profile, they can track how many people have purchased services via our site, the daily schedule, gross sales, etc Site should be device friendly (i.e mobile, tablet, desktop etc) Site should be built with SEO in mind as well. There may be more than one developer working on this implementation, so the code should be industry standard.
