I have a seemingly simple problem that I have been grappling with for many days without solving. My overall issue is price checking, for a large number of url/price combinations. In other words, there is some e commerce web site that advertises a price at a particular url; my job is to verify that all the price/url combos are legit. I initially programmed a solution in perl using WWW::Mechanize. This worked well much of the time, but W::M has no javascript functionality. So where the url resulted in a javascript redirect to another url, WWW::Mech fell down. This small project is to sucessfully "price check" a single price/url combo that has been given me trouble due to being a javascript redirect. I asked about this issue at perlmonks: [login to view URL] and the Selenium openQA forum: [login to view URL] (lots of answers at perlmonks, none at selenium so far, but maybe they'll come in later.) More detailed information about the type solution I want, and roadblocks I have encountered, along with a perl test script you can use for a starter, are attached. Whoever can get this to work will have my appreciation, and likely future work in this vein. Thanks, thomas. PS: The price/url combo above is on a web site site not under my control. It has been stable for the last two weeks, and will probably continue to be stable. However, if it changes, of course it is simple to replace it with another url with javascript redirect / price combo. I have an inexhaustible supply.
