Facebook Application

Project Description We are looking for someone to write a facebook application that displays the weather on your facebook page along with a corresponding weather image. We wish to display the current weather as well as the forecast for both there current location and their hometown. For each different type of weather pattern, user should be able to add a comment that will be displayed for today’s weather in there current location EG: o It is sunny Mike feels happy o It is raining Mike feels grumpy o It is windy and two of seven dwarfs have filed law suits Application also needs to collect facebook information and write it to our database so we can determine who our audience is. This project will be proceeded by other releases, therefore this release must be modular in design and well commented. We will be looking at getting the same team for future releases. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). OTHER INFORMATION: More detail We are looking for programmers who have experience dealing with the Facebook API. Applicants please provide relevant projects if possible. We require that the programmers address each of the areas below, however we will be putting the final touches on the project, and we will be making it live. Here are some of the areas we want to cover in this application: • Presence on Facebook o Listed in product Directory (Directory where users can browse for applications) - Must have an attractive product directory icon - We will organize the copy o About page produced (a page that tells users about the application) - We will organize the copy o Left Tab index (links to application home page) o Home (An application's homepage is accessed from the Facebook Left Nav) - What friends who have installed this program are thinking about the weather that they are experiencing o Dashboard - Settings • Change comment for each type of weather o Profile - Changing icon for weather + user comments o Profile action links - More of an explanation on why they do/ don’t like the weather? • Extract information user has written in on facebook o Use [login to view URL] (returns user info in xml format) OR FQL request (Facebook Query Language, or FQL, allows you to use a SQL-style interface to more easily query the same data that you can access through other Facebook API methods.) o Save said information for our records (write to our DB) • On a daily basis use the user location or zip code parameter to acquire the weather (through API) o To use two API’s - Yahoo API - Weather Channel API o If one API is not working must be able to use the other • Acquire/ design weather images and logo ## Platform LAMP Linux Apache MySQL PHP Written for Facebook.
