Overview of project
Using Joomla or phpmydirectory, I'm looking to create a pay-per-listing search engine and business directory.
The directory will list the actions that companies take to support Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Equality. Readers will benefit because they will be able to search for companies that support their community. Businesses will benefit by being able to showcase their activities to a loyal audience. Businesses will pay to be listed and drive customers to their stores with discount codes. Readers for free will be able to search a specialized search engine that indexes the sites of registered business.
Services needed
1. Website development
2. Installation of the site on the third party host like GODADDY.
3. Site admin to confirm 404-page errors, redirects, etc.
4. Clear instructions/training in English on how to update the site
5. from completion of site, 3-months support on how to use Joomla and how to use the site (make updates, changes, etc.)
6. Submit site map to google
Look and Feel
The directory envisioned is similar to http://freeindex.co.uk. A lot of the Google map functionality is modeled on this site.
The look and feel of site is modeled on [url removed, login to view], a green business directory. Similar to [url removed, login to view] and as a value add to the listed businesses, I�m adding a custom Google coop search that indexes the listed business sites so that readers can find the products of the listed businesses easily.
The spec document attached is written from the Joomla perspective, but I'm open to it being developed using phpmydirectory so long as the template used gives the web 2.0 features similar to yootheme firefly template.
The business registration and payment workflows are modeled on www.datacenterjournal.com.
The template envisioned is the [url removed, login to view] firefly template with the white color and this layout.
