Ultimately what we are looking for is a system that can apply multiple textures to objects in a room (i.e. bedspreads, carpet, draperies, wall coverings, window treatments, side chair etc.) and output an image. We should be able to pass image textures, or instructions for their locations and applications to a rendering engine that can apply the textures and return an image. The rendering engine would use either 3d models or images to apply the textures to, and we would need to be able to create new textures in house. Some technologies we have looked at require tile able high resolution jpg's or tiffs. This is preferable.
Below are a few examples of sites that implement this type of technology, however we are only looking to outsource the back end image rendering functionality. We will be designing a front end interface in collaboration with my client. The end user must not have to use a plugin, therefor the final solution may need to be a flash production. We are open to any value engineering ideas you can offer.
