An application whereby customers are able to log into a webapge, design orders, and then place them. All the information is stored and retrieved from a database. _Detailed Requirements are as such:_ 1. The customer logs into the website, using credentials stored in a SQL DB. 2. The customer's past order history is available on a history page. This page lists all of the details of the particular orders, as deemed necessary. 3. The customer can also place new orders. 3a. The client selects a template. These tempaltes are stored in XML and describe items such as a post card, a poster, billboard, tshirt, etc. 3b. The templates are then customized. The fields are filled in ON the current template (the page displays the template and the text can be edited directly). The customer can also upload pictures to be used in these templates. All updates are done in realtime, though a refresh is not a problem (we are not particular excited at the idea of having a large AJAX codebase to work with). 3c. Once the template is finished (both front and back), the information is stored in a database, and a PDF is generated, and sent to both the customer and our printshop design team. The client's copy is slightly degraded and has a the word "DRAFT" in transparent letters displayed over it. The copied emailed to our office will have all of the information input by the client, as well as the time, amount, pricing, etc. 3d. The PDF MUST be ready to be sent to the printers (dimensions correctly setup, color space, etc.). We want there to be as little manual work as possible in getting the orders to the presses. The orders come in, are checked and approved, and sent out. 4. The client can then log in to the site and check on the status of the job, which will be updated via the local database interface. This information is critical however and must be available to the client.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
The codebase must be completely in ASP .NET 2 - Language can be either VB.NET or C#, but must be cleane -, pull from a MSSQL database, and use XML for the templates and be able to fully generate working PDF's. The user-interface must be usable under firefox and IE6+ (5+ is also nice, but is not absolutely necessary). We would rather have a cleaner codebase than extensive compatibility fixes for a dozen browsers. YOU will be responsible for designing the XML schema for the templates, implementing all of the above logic, and providing us with a fully working system. All the code must be clean, and easily adaptable to our already existing platform. This can be discussed as necessary.
