Hello there ye masters of the code!! Basically, I am tired of maintaining my Win 2K hosting account for my ASP coded site [login to view URL] when I have tons of room on my Linux based hosting accounts. I figured it is time to get the site converted from ASP with an MS Access DB to PHP with a MySQL DB. The site I want converted is [login to view URL] which I created while in school. A good friend coded most of it and did a GREAT job! The code is very well written and clean… only problem, it is ASP with an MS Access DB. I want to duplicate all of the current functionality exactly! As I communicate with the coder I will entertain suggestions for minor changes, and we can discuss additions to the site, but my main concern is having the exact same site running in PHP with MySQL. The majority of the site is made up of about 30 dynamic ASP pages that total about 300 kb of code. The static pages ( FAQ, Help, Advertise, etc.) will not need converting as I expect to be able to simply use a PHP header and footer in place of the current ASP includes and change the name from .asp to .php. One item of note: I currently use PHPAdsNew for my ad management and it works great for delivering the ads. In addition to this the site has a table for ad PLACEMENT on the site (i.e.; where on the page, and what pages the ad is displayed, and for which school). The coder will have full access to the current pages, and a test domain / site with Cpanel to create test databases, etc. etc. to make sure the conversion works on my current platform.
