Hi,
I need to re-develop a simple Template Editor for HTML pages. The template editor should be developed in HTML/javascript/DHTML. I am attaching what I developed so far. A brief explanation: users see the HTML page as a 5x5 grid. They can select a cell, expand it horizontally/vertically, compress it horizontally/vertically, and assign properties (in the right panel) to it. For example, they can select a cell and change its width and height by changing the values in the right panel. Additionally, they can assign an object (title, summary, body, buttons) to each cell. When they assign an object, the cell changes color. Finally, when a cell is selected, they can press EDIT HTML CODE to show a popup window where they can enter the HTML code associated to that cell. This way, users can build the structure of an HTML page and add HTML code for each part of the structure.
As you can see in the attachment, now everything works ok (except for the 'Edit Html Code' button -but I'll add it later- and the toolbar -but don't consider it-) but IT IS VERY VERY SLOW. For example, when you move the mouse over each cell, it is very slow to highlight the cell. Now we have a 5x5 grid, instead in the final version I'd like to have a 10x10 grid. Since the code is very slow right now with 5x5, I cannot increase to 10x10, making it even slower.
So, I need to re-develop this application so that it will be much quicker, even at 10x10. Your re-developed application should behave exactly like my application, but should be much quicker than mine. I don't mind how you develop it (in javascript/HTML), but you need to comment the code. Also, when you press the OK button, there should be a way (in javascript) to get all the settings users have set for each cell. I mean, I will need to know the structure and code set by the user, so that ...
