Panmedia is a digital agency focused on mobile, social media, online marketing and web development. We develop highly effective digital strategies for clients and pointed messages to engage their target groups.
Our competitive edge comes from our close personal service, a wide palette of skill sets from internal and external professionals and our broad outlook. We begin with requirements and research and take our solutions right to the heart of the analytics.
We jumped into the Internet in 1996 and created Jamaica’s first portal, Jamaica Today. We are now creating Facebook games and mobile apps for engagement and function. We adopt useful technologies quickly and we blog about everything.
Most of us are ardent environmentalists, some are game enthusiasts and all of us are vested in making Jamaica the centre of the universe.
The Idea – BuildARasta
Rastafarianism is a spiritual ideology, but it is also an iconic element in the larger Jamaica brand. It is also an attitude and a fashion statement. People love the hair, the colors and the way they wear clothes and accessories. A Rasta look is easily identifiable anywhere in the world. Panmedia's BuildARasta is a fun app that lets you create a Rastafarian look that you can use as an avatar.
The goal of this project is to create the pieces that make up the avatar. The app is currently on the iOS platform and development has started for an android version. The avatar comprises a body, face/emotion, hair/locks, top (shirt/blouse), bottom (pants, skirt, shorts), footwear and accessories (tam, cap, etc.).
The user will page through categories from which they will choose the components to create their avatar. Attached with this document are some screenshots that will give you an idea of start to finish.
Your design should:
• Fill a canvas size of 260 x 728 pixels
• All graphics must be vector
• Consist of all the components to make up the avatar (male and female)
o With the exception of the body, a minimum of six components each (6 tops, bottoms, emotions, etc.)
o For the body, provide hues (a very light to a very dark brown) for the skin tones
o The various components should fit seamlessly on the body to make a complete image (e.g., all the emotions should fit perfectly in the same position in the head)
• Thumbnail images 100 x 85 pixels, will be needed for each component created
1. You will be expected to produce the designs for each component and thumbnail and submit Illustrator/Photoshop source which include:
2. The designs should be in separate folders for male and female. The folders should then be broken down in sub folders of the different components (body, hair, shoes, etc.) and named in the ensuing convention:
a. male-body-010, male-body-020, etc.
b. male-hair-010, male-hair-020, etc.
c. The females will follow the same convention with female being substituted for male, female-body-010, female-body-020, etc.
d. The thumbnails for the various components should be placed in sub folders in the respective male and female folders. Add -thumb to the name to distinguish them from the regular components, e.g. body-thumbs, hair-thumbs, etc.
e. The thumbnail files should follow the naming convention of the regular files with the addition of –thumb, e.g., male-body-010-thumb, male-body-020-thumb, etc.
3. The files should be saved in the .png format.
The app targets a worldwide audience between 10 and 30 years inclusive
