Software Engineer

Join Our Team:<br /><br /> <br /><br />Earm great compensation as a long term contractor, in a work-from-home sofware engineer position.<br /><br /> <br /><br />General Summary:<br /><br />You will be responsible for designing, programming, testing and implementing mission critical software utilizing ASP.net technologies.<br /><br />Working closely with other project members and management, you will be responsible to understand the project concept, objectives and software development approach and apply this knowledge to create a robust software solution.<br /><br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):<br /><br />Working from Functional Specifications or User Stories written in English, develop, test and deploy mission critical web and mobile software<br />Develop solutions using the latest development environment frameworks and practices<br />Ensure that all assigned tasks follow Primero’s software development process and are entered and tracked through the issue and project tracking software<br />Collaborate with appropriate personnel to understand the project concept, objectives and the approach for the software solution<br />Provide input to create detailed estimates for assigned project tasks<br />Identify, escalate and assist in resolving issues that impede the development effort<br />Ensure the intent of a requirement is satisfied<br />Work closely with business systems analysts and quality assurance analysts during all phases of development<br />Adhere to Primero’s development standards and best practices<br /><br />OTHER:<br /><br /><br /><br />This is a contractor, freelance, work from home, job position.<br /><br />This job description is not intended to be all inclusive, and the individual will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by supervisor.<br /><br />The company reserves the right to revise or change job duties as needed.  This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.<br /><br />QUALIFICATIONS:<br /><br />Six years of experience developing and implementing web-based, distributed applications on Windows platforms<br />Strong knowledge and working experience with Microsoft development technologies, C#, .NET Framework, MVC, Windows Forms, ASP.NET<br />Strong knowledge and working experience with SQL Database ([login to view URL], SQL Server, ADO)<br />Strong knowledge and working experience with Service Oriented Architecture and/or Web Service development<br />Strong knowledge and working experience with Java Script<br />Strong knowledge and working experience with JQuery<br />Well versed in HTML and CSS<br />Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile development approaches<br />Knowledge of MVC, SOA and other applicable design approaches and principles<br />Basic skill in using Photoshop or similar tool to manipulate PSD files and create HTML/CSS based on the PSD.<br />Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to effectively work in a dynamic environment<br />Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively<br />Able to work independently (self-starter and self-motivated) or in partnership with colleagues<br />Proactive with a positive “can-do” attitude<br />Strong written and verbal English language skills<br />Strong problem solving skills<br /><br /><br />EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS):<br /><br />Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience<br />6+ years of experience designing and implementing web based software<br />4+ years of server-side programming experience with web-based, database driven products
