Nice to know that you have art that want to be implemented on a game.
On implementing the art to the game, there are many things that need to be considered. One of the things is the harmony of the art style. Means that in one game, the art style need to be harmonized on every side of the game, whether it is UI, character, obstacle, environment, even the font style, all of them need to be in one harmony. There are several games that got art unharmonized issue, just because their artist are not synchronized between one and another and this issue is very noticeable.
The next thing is doing layout. There 2 aspect that need a good layout knowledge to be implemented, first thing is UI, the other thing is Level Design. Layout in UI, we can see that on an usual application. A good UI layout will give a nice perspective and information, and this is so important, since our user will know nothing about how to use our app, instead using an instruction text, we can apply a good layout that implicit the information about how to use the app. For example, in some games main menu, there is a huge Play button, why so that? Because developer wants to inform that "Hey, click this freakin huge button to start play".
Layout on level design will give the impact on how user play the game. It will affect the level difficulties, level progression, user progression curve, and many more. A bad level design will made the game "unplayable" even the game is playable. "Unplayable" here means that the user can't even finish or play the level just because a bad design of the level. It could bad obstacle positioning, bad enemy positioning, or maybe environment that are hard to adapt with the movement control of the player.
