Hi, Many years ago (almost 10years ago) I was participated in project for Italian customer (almost sole at these days) with the same SMS requests and management, but it was for Symbian. My rough estimate for Android: - App listens incoming SMS with settings(incomming phone number) = 8 hrs - App sends request: IsOK? HouseComp responses OK or Alert + notification = 4 hrs. HOwever, SMS will be VERY expensive in usage. I suggest to create a simple server and process communication through the server. Don't worry about security, it's possible hardly link user with his home without man-in-the-middle. YOu will need only network connection (GSM) rather usage of expensive SMS.
