Introduction The graphical user interface for an Android app is built using a hierarchy of View and ViewGroup objects. View objects are usually UI widgets such as buttons or text fields and ViewGroup objects are invisible view containers that define how the child views are laid out, such as in a grid or a vertical list. The main goal of this lab is to learn how to build a simple user interface. Objectives After completing Lab Assignment 2, you will be able to: Design and build a simple user interface. Recognize the different types of layouts and learn more about constraint layout Use input controls, such as text fields, spinners and buttons Respond to events and use toasts App Description In this lab, you will design and develop a Unit Converter App for temperature that converts Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice versa. Marking 1% The App has a way of selecting Fahrenheit to Celsius vs Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion 1% User can easily enter a temperature value and the keyboard does not show letters 1% Decimal and negative temperatures are supported. For example -42.5 Celsius is a valid temperature 1% The output is correct, visible clearly with 2 decimal points and the unit 0.5% The layout looks clean and organized 0.5% Submission contains both project zip file as well as the separate APK file.
