Outlook Mailbox VBA script

Brief:
A script that runs when an email is sent from a Project Mailbox which populates a sequential number in the Subject line (replacing ### symbols) by checking the Sent Items to find the next number to use.
Subject line example format: *RFI-### Enter description here
Detail:
I will create an outlook template, such as an RFI or Notice to Engineer or whatever it may be. Example attached.
I will save the template to have three letters a dash and then three # symbols.
The script is to read the first character of the Subject line of the Sent items to look for a * symbol.
IF it finds this then it reads the following three alpha characters (which could be anything).
The three alpha characters are then checked against the Sent Items (or possibly a separate log if more efficient??) for a match.
The script then assigns the next sequential number and populates this number instead of the three # symbols in the Subject field. E.g. *RFI-005
Email gets sent.
