STUDY AND SIMULATION OF MIMO SYSTEMS UNDER RAYLEIGH FADING

1. Genesis. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is a technology which is fast catching up in the wireless domain. MIMO comes under the category of space- time coding which is a signal processing technique to reduce/ overcome channel effects. Before practical implementation of such systems, simulation studies are carried out to check the performance of such systems under different channel conditions and also in conjunction with error control coding techniques. 2. Aim. To Study and Simulate MIMO systems under Rayleigh Fading Channel conditions and various Error Control Coding Techniques for mobile communications using MATLAB. 3. Scope. The project will include the following:- (a) Understand the Mobile communication system. (b) Understanding and implementing performance of mobile communication systems under Rayleigh Fading environment. (c) Simulation of MIMO using Space-Time coding techniques. (d) Study of some error control coding techniques and simulating them. (e) Simulation of transmitter - receiver communication system using MIMO and Error Control Coding Techniques and studying its performance. 4. Payoffs.
