Create a bootsrap carousel with slides that don't correspond to thumbnails

What I have is a bootstrap cacoursel where I have some slides that I don't want to correspond to thumbnails.
So what I did was added a class of "hidden" to these thumbnails and removed their "data-slide-to" attribute.
That way I can have slides in between 4 and 5 (4, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3...) and they won't cause any indicators on the thumbnails (well they would, but they're hidden -- as intended).
I can't seem to find out how to use a CSS class to keep Slide 4's thumbnail active while it goes through 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc. until it gets to the slide5 indicator.
I attached my current html file for use.
You must use my file to complete this.
No other frameworks aside from Bootstrap and jQuery.
Must be compatible IE10+.
