Help: Validation in MVC application not working when editing existing data.

I have two views in my application. One page allows users to CREATE a new account. The other one allows users to EDIT information after they search for it. I have validation attributes set in the model that fire without a problem in my CREATE view. However, the validation fails to work on the EDIT view. The scenario is like this: [login to view URL] searches for "clinic" [login to view URL] selects clinic to edit [login to view URL] gets rid of the value in a "required" field [login to view URL] tabs out of the field or saves 5. validation does not fire 6. stored procedure (obdc connection) is built so when users try to enter a blank field it doesn't save and just keeps the old data 7. user searches the same account 8. field they left blank displays the old data before they left it blank I have noticed that on the CREATE page the validation will trigger on a tabout and save. I need someone to help me figure out why this isn't happening in the EDIT page. This seems like a minor problem so I Need someone who is comfortable using teamviewer to complete the assignment (I would like to see the solution to the problem to learn why it happened)

Hi, here are a few things I'd check to resolve this issue: 1) The view model contains validation attributes, but are the validation attributes rendered to HTML? 2) Are all required validation script files included on the edit page? 3) Is validation invoked when the field loses focus or when the form gets submitted? 4) Inspect the data that is actually sent to the server. 5) Use jQuery validation in debug mode. 6) Other stuff...
