20 Slides of a presentation

My requirements for this project are the following; The Project involves the design and evaluation of a prototype for an interactive physical device. Physical devices usually contain sensors (e.g. touch, temperature, proximity, light) and may or may not connect to the Internet. They are not simply smartphones or tablets, but may have them embedded. The assignment involves all four stages in the development life cycle: establishing requirements, designing alternatives, prototyping, and evaluation. The choice of device is up to you. It may be an alternative design for an existing device, or a design for something entirely new that currently does not exist. A 4-minute video A 20-slide presentation (file) produced in PowerPoint The slide presentation should use images and limited text to outline the development of the prototype including the methods used for establishing user needs, personas and scenarios, sketches and storyboards, the methods used for evaluation and the outcome of the evaluation. It should summarize data collected at all stages in the life cycle. The presentation should be a maximum of 20 slides long including references. The presentation does not need very detailed information about the prototype itself as that will be covered in the video element of this project. Unlike a normal presentation, The presentation should not include audio or narration and it should be self-contained. The slide presentation should be produced in Microsoft PowerPoint Project Criteria The slide presentation will be assessed according to the following criteria. Note that the weighting of these criteria is not specified as there will be some flexibility depending on choice of device. • Justification for choice of methods • Evidence of consultation with users at each stage (when appropriate) • Evidence of iteration • Evidence of consideration of alternatives • Evaluation of prototype • Personas and scenarios • Sketches and storyboards • Citations and relation to the literature Main Ask in this project - Excellent justification of the choice of methods used for each stage and clear consideration of alternatives. Excellent demonstration of the use of iteration in which previous stages are revisited following the outcomes at a given stage. Very strong evidence that users have been consulted wherever possible or necessary. Effective use of personas and scenarios. Excellent attempt at relating the development to the literature on HCI and Interaction Design
