I'm looking to hire a mobile app developer to help me create a health/fitness application. The application will help users track the changes in their physical appearance over time a set period of time. Users will be able to take & store photos which will then be compressed into an animated time-lapse. This will allow users to visualize their progress over long periods of time in a very easy and interactive way.
How does it work?
A user can create a track (album) to store what it is that they want to track. Once the track is created they can add a snapshot (a photo) to the track. A user can manually add snapshots to the track as frequently as they want. The application will take all of the snapshots and compress them into a viewable time-lapse. The user can go back into a track and scroll through the animated time-lapse to see all of the snapshots.
- Login Screen > Facebook and email login
- Home Screen > View/Create Tracks
- Track Screen > View Track Stats/Add a snapshot/View track animation
- Capture Screen > Camera with Timer/Outlined Template
The application will help a user take a reliable snapshot. The user has to pick a fixed environment and time of day where they will take the snapshot. A user can set their phone down on the counter, press capture, a timer will start and an animated outline will appear on the screen of how they should stand in front of the camera. The application will capture the snapshot once the timer runs out or once the user fits inside of the outline. For the best results, it would be better to take the snapshots in the same environment/time of day that the user has previously taken with the original snapshot. This will result in a much better and smoother time-lapse.
- Tags - completely customizable and can store any information that a user wants to record, such as body weight.
- Share an animated track to Social Media
- Export an animated track to the Phone
- Create multiple Tracks
Because this application tracks progress solely by taking photos, you can track whatever you can take a picture of. It can be used to track a fitness physique, pregnancy, rehabilitation, and or other things like a beard growing.
I'm a fitness bodybuilder and I want to track my overall physique. I open up the application, sign in and create a new Track called 'Full Body.' I set the phone down on the counter and click "add snapshot" to automatically start a 5-second timer. Once I'm in position, the application will take my photo through the phone's camera and store it into the track. I will repeat this process every 24 hours to get a daily snapshot of my progress. After a month, I can view an animated time-lapse that consists of my 30 snapshots I've taken before. I can scroll through them dragging the scroll bar to see how I've changed over time. In the meantime, if there were any tags added they will project on the screen.
The goal of the application is to help users track their progress in a very easy and interactive way.
