I've created a tracking spread sheet that reformats when a certification is due for renewal. I've followed the instructions to lock cells (to protect the calculations) but the selected cells won't lock. just the portion outside of the active columns and rows. below are the instructions I use. It works when I create a new spreadsheet, but not after amending. :Highlight cells to remain open Rt click; Format cells; Protection tab. Uncheck "locked"; ok. Review tab; Protect sheet; check "select unlocked cells" all others unchecked. password protect; OK How do I correct this? Using version 2010 Project: All highlighted cells should be locked, all else unlocked.
