I've given Skype lessons since October 2013 with a few-month break due to my work arrangements in Moscow, Russia. Once I became more available, I contacted my student who now lives in Melbourne, Australia to ask if she would be willing to resume classes with me. Her answer was positive, thus we've continued to have 2-hour classes tailored to meet her personal needs and preferences. Every class starts with reading and translating authentic texts (English and Macedonian). Following this, we revise/learn English grammar at an advanced level and afterwards the student completes a writing task. By doing so, coherence and cohesion are practiced. Listening comes next. Again, an authentic online video is played, paused so that the student can either guess what comes next and/or interpret what has been heard by that point. The same applies for the remaining part of the listening. Speaking is the last task where the student and I discuss current topics to revise already-learnt vocabulary and acquire new one.
The experience above is only one of the few experiences I have had as an English teacher. For more details, please refer to my online profile.
Also, you can read on my profile about my qualifications, one of which is the successful completion of the teaching practice, phonology interview and written exam on the Trinity Diploma Course.
With this in mind, I believe to be a suitable candidate.
If interested, please contact me.
I look forward to your reply.
