***LTspice MUST be used for the simulations
For the four transistors shown, calculate the small-signal impedances indicated. If we compare
the result of (a) to (b), and (c) to (d), can we infer some approximate “reflection” rules that
describe how the BJT transforms impedances from one terminal to the other and vice-versa?

Design (with hand calculations) the amplifier described above to have a phase margin of at least
60⁰ , while maximizing bandwidth. With an acceptable compensation capacitance, you should
have at least 100kHz 3dB bandwidth, but wider is better. Note that you will need some
information about the gain, output resistance, and capacitance of each stage in the amplifier to
perform these calculations. By simulating the amplifier in open loop, and using appropriate test
sources, you should be able to extract all of these parameters for the first and second stages.

Estimate the slew rate and large signal bandwidth for the amplifier given two inputs:
i) a -0.5V to +0.5V step input,
ii) a 0.5V peak sinusoid.
Make sure to include a schematic of your circuit, as you plan to implement in simulation and
measurement, as well as any relevant small-signal schematics you use for your analysis.

Simulate the performance. You should simulate loop gain, phase margin, closed-loop
small-signal bandwidth, and the two large-signal inputs described in part 1. You may find that in
simulation the bandwidth must be decreased by further compensation. This would be observed in
either the phase margin of the small-signal performance, or as ringing with the step input. You
should adjust the compensation to maximize slew rate and bandwidth in simulation while
making sure that the step input settles without ringing. Include plots for these measurements, as
well as your testbench schematic
