Biomedical signals processing

I am trying to separate noise from respiratory signal, where i dont have much knowledge about the noise and it overlaps in frequency, with respiratory frequency.

I have analysed the signal using wavelet transform but i am not sure how to identify the levels of noise and separate them. and how to asses the filtering performance.
