Based on a Raspberry or Arduino. A bilge pumps is used to evacuate water. Usually these pumps are controlled by a float switch, but there are situations where a float switch is not useful.
The current to pump draws will be lower when there is no water pumped than when the pump actively pumps water. Both these currents need to be measured by having the user press a button. while on the display it says, pump water, pump empty. These 2 values will be used to make the pump 'intelligent' . The pump wil start for a set time ( seconds) during that time the current is measured and if the current indicates water, the pump wil keep pumping until dry. the pump then rests a set ( variable period) and checks again if there is liquid to be pumped. If there is no liquid the rest interval is increased, if there was liquid the interval wil be reduced. Minimal interval is 15 minutes, Max wait interval is 2 days.
The code for the arduino/preferably raspberry needs to be written and assistance need to be giving by buying the right current sensor and display
Hello,
I am Anthony from Sri lanka. I have 7 years of experience in the filed and I am very much interested in your project.
Why you should hire me ?
* As a full time freelancer I have my own PCB fabrication work shop and testing lab. So there is no problem doing live tests with you after the device has been developed.
* My workshop is equipped with CNC machine, FDM 3D printer and DLP 3D printer. So there is no problem designing and printing plastic parts you required.
Please contact me if you are interested. Thank you
Anthony
I'm an experienced developer with a keen interest in the Raspberry Pi and Arduino. I've worked on many Pi and Arduino related projects using various input/output boards.
I would recommend using an Arduino for your bilge pump control mainly due to the fact that the Arduino can be powered on or off without issue. The Pi needs a clean startup and shutdown.
I have used the ACS723 current sensors to measure mains current. What voltage is your bilge pump? What currents are involved?
What type of display are you thinking of?
I would be very interested in working with you on your intelligent bilge pump project.
Hello
I have got your job posting “intelligent bilge control” and I am very much interested to work in your project. I am a circuit designer and have more than 5 years experience of working with the Analog/Digital Electronics Embedded systems(Arduino,Rasberry pi ,ARM processors ,PIC microcontrollers,Wireless boards,TFT Touch Displays,All types of sensors and actuators). i have done tons of similar projects So, I think you’ll find that, I have the skills you’re looking for. For more on my skills and successfully finished projects, please have a look on my Profile and Portfolio.
I have all the components available here with me so i will develop a working prototype according to your specifications and then send you the code and schematics so things will work for sure.I will remotely guide you and help you build the system on your side.
I am always available on Email and Skype. Please have a voice or video chat if necessary. I shall be available round the clock and able to start your project as soon as possible according to you.
Thank you for your consideration,
Best Regards,
Haseeb Shafqat
I DO NOT OUTSOURCE
I have been a freelancer for the past 8 years, I believe that my experience and skill in this background will prove to be of great help to you. Contact me to discuss more on the details
yes buddy,,,in this budget will complete design and ship u the prototype,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanx,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Hello there,
This is a default bid made. we'll discuss the price later in the chat
after reading your project i can do this for you perfectly.I still have a few questions. please leave a message on my chat so we can discuss this further..
Thanks

I'm an engineer in Instrumentation and Control. Expert in the subject and with experience. Manager of SOLUXPRO C.A
I promise to be with you from the beginning until after finishing the work.
Service to your needs
Contact me.
I will make on the basis of arduino. Requires characterization of water pumps. Should the screen be color or monochrome? Dimensions of the device.? I have extensive experience in the development of automatic devices in the industry, in the home and automotive electronics.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have got involved in many automation projects before with microcontrollers( including arduino) and various electronics modules. For the software part I'm confident will not give us too much trouble.
I can assist in making the prototype and even design a PCB for some extra fee.
For the current sensor one can use the common hall effect currrent sensors or even current transformer but I thing it is an overkill. Chat with me to discuss about a cheaper solution and about the display.
What about the float switch, can be used as a second layer of prtection?
