We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (NOT LOOKING FOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER) for ongoing projects with Hawaii Engineering Group. Engineer Candidate must possess demonstrable electrical engineering and design skills with minimum of 5 yrs. experience, be capable of taking project from start to finish with minimal supervision, using a working knowledge of 2008 & 2014 National Electrical Code. Ability to create one-line diagrams and calculate connected loads. Competency in laying out electrical equipment on the plan and coordinate with mechanical, process, architectural and structural discipline. Capable of sizing feeders, grounding systems and OCPD. Understanding of NFPA, IES and building codes. Knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems. Ability to route major conduit runs and large cable trays through the facility in coordination with other disciplines. Design grid connected, energy storage, and off grid PV systems with managed power control. Experience with grounding grid, cable pulling and lighting illumination calculation software. Experience with editing electrical specifications from master templates. Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Working knowledge of Microsoft office Outlook, Excel & Word. Needs to be able to lead with energy and handle pressured situations effectively to meet aggressive project schedules, and exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attending site survey and client meeting, inspect/troubleshoot installations, perform budget cost estimates and have a thorough knowledge of local permitting procedures. Have some managerial and supervisory skills, and have passed EIT exam. High voltage design, LEED accreditation, proficiency in modeling of electrical circuits and running engineering analysis using SKM and EasyPower,and SCADA controls and commissioning expertise are a plus. I have 20 years of experience in electrical engineering with 18 in the USA working in MEP firms. My last position in a US firm was Electrical Department Manager. I am well versed in the National Electric Code, US Building standards, and IES requirements. My everyday tasks included designing HV, MV and LV power, lighting, motor controls, and electrical subsystems including communications. I can design any electrical system required for a building that has a corresponding AIA division 26, 27, or 28 section and some that don't. I have worked across sectors as well. I can coordinate with architects and engineers of all trades to complete a project or multiple projects at the same time from start to finish. Software that I can use includes AutoCAD, MS office products including excel, word, outlook, and power point. I can also use SKM Power Tools, and ETAP. At the time when I relocated from the US to Europe I was testing for my PE in Maryland. I was unsuccessful on the first attempt. I have worked for several well known clients including the US air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, JP Morgan Chase Bank and Verizon. Most recently I have been working a lot in renewable energy, motor controls, and power distribution.
