Market My Events that Will lead to Tickets Sales

As a novice of event planning, I always thought it'd be easy to get people together. Especially when it comes to matchmaking. Over the past five months, I have found this not to be true. This baffles me beyond repair considering that I know what it's like to be single. I launched my own video dating website in December of last year with very little members. But that's not why I'm writing this letter... I'm writing this letter because I thought it would be fun to host in person speed dating events/singles mixers on my website in the valley because I am passionate that this is a very effective way to meet people if you're single. Just by the mere fact that there is no catfishing involved. You don't have to "guess" who you're meeting & the connections are mutual. I've been to many of these events myself so I know what I'm talking about. We tried to host our very first one this past New Years Eve. We even met with the owners of the venue who agreed to advertise the event for us, only they shockingly cancelled the event on us two weeks before it was suppose to happen. The event wasn't even theirs to cancel. Needless to say, it did not happen. The second go around, was a Valentine's Day themed one at a different venue, obviously. We thought we had this one in the bag since our tickets were disgustingly cheap and admission for ladies was free. Wrong again, only one male showed up. Our third "nonevent," was last month at the same venue. The manager of the joint witnessed us flunking the Valentine's Day one and promised us all sorts of free advertising two months before the event on the venue's website. We even left flyers there for the patron's to see. But by the time of the actual date of event, that manager had quit. & the new manager didn't even know who we were. Furthermore, the flyers we had left there had mysteriously vanished. And just like before, we just didn't have enough attendees to continue. Our last event at another venue, this time in Scottsdale, was the worst one of all! The venue accepted the event to be held in their space, but they absolutely refused to do any sort of for it advertising for us what so ever. I thought social media would be the key, but that so far has produced zero results. We get a lot of angry feedback from on these so called "members of singles/dating groups" on social media. No one in these groups seems to have any interest in socializing with anyone in person. I find this rather strange considering that the foundations with these groups is to meet other singles in person rather than online. Thus far we've tried every marketing/advertising angle imaginable. All of which are producing zero results. It's as if we're eternally invisible. This is just a quick run down of what we've tried over the past five months that has not worked: *Advertised our event on local social singles groups-No success *Sell our tickets on Eventbrite.com-Not much help either *Advertised on AZ Central's "Things to Do" page-No luck *Hired a street team that venue hops throughout the valley's nightlife that included promotions such as discount tickets if you bought a ticket through our street team-No success *Sent paper flyers off to businesses where we thought our events would gain some attention (& yes we asked permission)-No Success *Offered freebies to our events through fun promotions-No success *Arranged a fun meet & greet with local singles to attract spark interests to promote an event-No one signed up *Hired actors to do a commercial for us and advertised it on social media-Same outcome as above. Naturally at this point I'm ripping my hair out and banging my against the wall trying to figure out what is going on? Is it the desert? Or is it us?
