I need an excel spreadsheet where I can add, delete or modify stock and option symbols. I need the flexibility to add columns for data retrieval, such as current price, and value metrics such as price/sales ratio. some of the columns may be calculated fields, so for example if a ratio is not available on a pre -calculated field, I will have 2 columns for the 2 available values and a 3rd where the ratio would be calculated. I need a refresh button that when clicked will retrieve the requested data from free finance sites msn, yahoo finance and EDGAR. It is my intention, when I am satisfied with the data fields, I would want the ability to generate reports, based on the excel data, from a database program. I don't know which is best for a novice - Microsoft access or some other program. Suggestions welcome. Please do not respond to this bid request if you are not familiar with investment terms.

This is my proposal. Will give you a MS Access form where you can enter/maintain your stock symbols. Once you click import... it will do all the processing/calculation and it will show you in a excel Once you are okay - in ms xcel - we can generate some charts... I can design an excellent spreadsheet for you that would take care of all the requirements. Besides if you intend to create reports in Excel, its better to keep the whole solution in the same tool. If you can share your complete requirements, I can provide you a good solution in terms of design and software to use.
