Kenny’s Kites - A Hong Kong Story – by Colin A. Rampton
A story for kindergarten children in 18 pages. 3rd Draft

1. Mr. Kite is Kenny’s favorite toy.
(Picture of Kenny holding his kite –the kite has eyes and a happy expression- and Kenny is looking happily at it)
2. Every Saturday, his Daddy takes him on the bus to the Country Park. (Getting off green HK minibus, country park on destination plate)
3. They make Mr. Kite fly very high in the blue sky. (Picture of Kenny flying his kite happily gazing at it. Dad stands proudly by)
4. Now, the wind is soft (gentle?) and Mr. Kite dances slowly. (The kite has a loose string and it is low in the sky)
5. Now, the wind is strong and Mr. Kite soars and swoops in big circles. (The kite string is taut. the kite high and swooping)
6. Today, Dad says they should not go. The wind is too strong. (Dad looking at newspaper and pointing to Typhoon 3 signal)
7. Kenny is cross and he makes a big fuss. (Speech bubble) “I WANT TO GO!” (Kenny crying, stamping, having a tantrum)
8. “Okay, I will take you,” says Daddy sadly. (Dad reluctantly puts newspaper away)
9. Mr. Kite soars higher in the sky than (ever) before. (Wind is very strong Kenny’s hair shows it, Dad is holding
