This project is to create shape files of school zones in New Haven CT. The main source of original data is a list of addresses associated to different school zones. We want to make polygones to show the school zones on a google map. The New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) has 22 elementary school zones and 2 high school zones. These zones were drawn by a Redistricting Committee back in 2012 for the purposes of assigning neighborhood priorities based on home addresses. The original mapping of the school zones can be seen in docs\elemzones-noaddress.pdf. This map shows both the zones, and the schools (indexed with a legend). We had previously asked someone else to create the shape files located in data\polygons, however by using them we have realized that they are incorrect.
