Research question in PICO format P: Healthy patients undergoing routine/same day surgery I: Prophylactic preoperative antibiotics administration C: No antibiotics administration O: Better surgical site healing and decreased post-surgical complications So given the risks of unwarranted antibiotics use, is it necessary for healthy patients presenting for routine/same day surgery to receive prophylactic preoperative antibiotics?
