Descrizione del concorso

I need a cover for a young adult story I am working on.

The story is called “Tales of Terrth: Roland the Mouse”. Authors name “Adam O. Harmon”.

Story is about a Mouse warrior who lost his tail during battle. It’s a retelling of the story of the historical epic of Roland le Paladin whose last stand allowed Charles Martel to arrive and defeat the Islamic raiding into France. The story is in the vein of “Redwall” and “The Green Emerald”.

The mouse is an Edible Dormouse. He wears armor similar to a Templar Knight, but instead of the Cross, it’s a Black Sunflower. He doesn’t need a helmet. Like I said, he’s missing his tail. You can have him in a scene where he’s in a canyon or overlooking a river with a few comrades (all mice, but they can be different types of mice) or he can be in a battle scene.

If he’s in a battle scene, I see him being surrounded with comrades or by himself by enemies. Scorpions are the enemies, and they tower over the mice in this world. They all can stand on their hind feet, wear armor and carry weapons. Their armor is closer to Saracen/Islamic armor, with a blazing sun on their armor (scorpions and their allies worship the sun).

I prefer the images being illustrated. Note: The images are only for reference to the type of artwork that I'd like to see, please don't use them in your stuff, as I don't own the rights to them!

You only uploaded basically a placeholder image but I added the star so that you’d know that I hadn’t ignored it. I’d still like to see what you’ve got if you have an actual image you’d to add to it.

Just some additional clarifications and additional ideas for people to play with.
    - Only the main character needs to be a fat/edible dormouse. You can throw other type of mice in if you decide.
    - Hedgehogs are considered healers, so if you want to add a different type of mammal, that's a good choice.
    - As he's meant to be a fantasy mouse version of Roland le Paladin, he's famous for having a horn to alert Charles Martel to the arrival of Muslim forces, similar to Boromir from LOTR. Roland also carries a horn later in the story.
    - Dandelions are considered sacred in the mice religion of the story, so if adding a scene where they are in a grassy place, maybe a dandelion can be somewhere.
    - 6x9 inches for the image, but you can do a wrap-around one if you want.
