Descrizione del concorso

I want to hire a plastics engineer to help me design and spec a 48" round base that is being used for an indoor game. I have attached a basic design but assume there are better ways to do this, and I especially need consulting help on the best plastics and process.

The prototype I have been using for this base is a 48"x48" x1/2" round piece of plywood which works well but is too large to ship economically so I need a solution that can fit into a smaller box.

The functional characteristics are:

What when joined together to make the base, four identical pieces will provide a very flat surface (slightly rounded edges on all sides of the piece is fine) with the following characteristics:

This assembled base:
1) will stay firm and flat when propped up on one edge by a 2"x2" x6" block and loaded with a 10 pound carpet.
2) will collapse into pieces when stepped on by more than 10-20 pounds.
3) is easily reassmbled

Also, each individual piece will support the weight of a 250 pound person when standing on it with one foot.. I imagine this piece being made of made by thermoforming or blow molding.

I am looking for plastics engineering expertise for design supervision and plastics specifications. My main concern is that the design works to hold a perfectly flat surface when propped up under one edge and under slight pressure, yet will break when stepped on, and each piece can support weight of 250 person. The depth and shape of the tongues and grooves is critical as is the material, which I want to be hollow for weight and cost.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.
