My new Kung Fu website “Friends for Fighting” needs a “spirit animal”. Traditionally these have been the tiger, crane, leopard, monkey, mantis, snake or dragon. Breaking from the dull and dreary, Friends for Fighting’s spirit animal is my border collie Winston.

The friends for fighting website has not been drafted yet. However it will look very much like this one https://www.bacfudo.com.au/#anchor_home . For context, I would imagine the border collie spirit animal to roughly measure from the tiger’s head to the bottom of the yin and yang logo..

Winston is a soft, soothing and solid friend who enjoys holding paws. However, he is also an ever-vigilant guardian protective of all in his care. With superior athleticism, determination, intelligence and focus Winston is no ordinary fighter. However it is his stare that haunts adversaries. There is no better “friend for fighting”.

I would like Winston to appear in the classic border collie crouch and stare stalking position. The stare is so intimidating that it can control flocks of sheep and intimidate predators. The crouch is low to the ground. The front paws are placed one behind the other with front rear paw being slight cocked off the ground. From this position they cautiously “stalk”. This represents Winston as a fighter.

The enclosed pictures depicts Winston with an immaculate black and white fluffily coat. He also wears a red bandanna around his neck and collar. His white fluffy collar and chest fur sticks out from underneath it. These attributes represent his friendship.

I am really hoping to strike a balance between friend and fighter in the depiction of Winston as a kung fu spirit animal. If his eyes could be made compelling I would be most appreciative.

As Kung Fu is a Chinese fighting art I was wanting for it to be in a similar style to the enclosed modernist Chinese tiger. I do note that border collies typically are of Scottish ancestry. Much of their work is undertaken in the Scottish Highlands (picture enclosed).
