I need a band logo so I can start releasing music on streaming music services. Building a band identity out of thin air leaves a lot of possibilities open. Here are some general parameters:

• clean lines
• 70s/80s retro or modern
• versatile
• would look good and distinct on a hat/shirt/sticker/etc.
• would look cool even if you had no idea what it meant

• Suggests the following: danceable, singer-songwriter/DIY musician, funky, groovy, synth-rock, indie, retro, jam-band, aiming for catchy—not perfectly polished, secret identity, grassroots, technology, organized, ironic, a little bit edgy, from the Pacific NW of the USA (lots of trees, rivers, mountains, etc.), Apple computer

• Does NOT suggest the following: violent, angry, childish, sad, country, folk

• Listeners should expect the songwriting and production of the music to be high quality while the performances are the rawer, acquired taste. This music might appeal most to “stoners” and fellow songwriters.

• Considering the use of the Oregon state outline or fir tree. Also considering the use of a line art silhouette of my head/body from behind (possibly with recording headphones on). Also considering possibly using a variation of the greek symbol of Sigma (Σ = “Sig” = “Signature”) as long as it doesn’t look like a fraternity logo.

• The easiest design would show the word “Signature” in a script and “Hustle” in a sans-serif. While this may be the best way to go, my guess is that this might feel too generic. Whether that is the best path is up to you.

• I don’t currently have any strong color preferences.

This song is a fair bit more mellow and less “retro” than my others. Most have a little more funk and “edge” to them in the form of distorted electric guitar or synth riffs (think laser beams, a la Ratatat).

If you need any photos or other assets, please let me know. I would prefer the completed file in Illustrator with fonts included (or listed). I’m excited to see what you come up with!

**Some logo inspirations attached but I'd welcome something fresh!

Hi Everyone. I'm seeing a number of submissions that look more like corporate branding rather than "rock n roll" branding. I'm definitely looking for something that indicates that this is a band logo. Needs a "cool" factor. Thanks!
