Hello and welcome to the contest.

Your job is to create a realistic painting or illustration of an old cinema building. The painting is supposed to show the building from the front. You can use whatever tool suits you the most as long as the resolution is high enough for a poster print (50x40cm print) and further processing. The more details the better.

The building in question was devasted and destroyed during the war in yugoslavia during the 90s leaving only ruins. I have a series of low resolution pictures showing the building in the devasted state from all front angles. I have also pictures before the war in low resolution in non favourable angles but all pictures together should be enough to have an idea how the building used to look.

The sign on the balcony which cant be read due to low resolution has the name of the cinema "POTKOZARJE". A glimpse of the used font can be seen on one of the pictures. I would like it recreated.

In one of the pictures there are flowers on the balcony. I am open to variations with and without flowers as long the sign with the name of the cinema is not covered.

Please pay attention to the color of the fasade. The sides of the wall (left and right of the stairs) seem are rosa. The middle part is white. The part underneath the balcony is again rosa.

On one of the pictures two antenna looking poles can be seen on the roof. Those are not needed.

I will provide more pictures of the building if I get my hands on more.

If you need more details please let me know. I am happy to provide whatever is needed.

NOTE: Please dont send processed images of the originals! The Task is to create an entirly new painting of the building, facing the front!

Hi, is it possible to know the location of the building? Just give a landmark near it so I can google to look at its existing condition from google map. It'll help giving a whole image for the painting. Thank you! :)

  Hello Jun Min, the Building does not exist any more. Its been demolished 20 years ago. On its place is now a apartment building. If you want to google for it use the string "kozarac kino". Thanks

  I would love to tell you more about the roof but those pictures are all I have. I think the roof tiles are fairly standard clay. The cinema has been build in the 50s so maybe you can find something typical for that era for east European buildings. As for the background, there are no special preferences.
