We are "Alegría," a Christian international singing group.

We have recorded an album of Christ-centered Christmas music.

We have two goals with the album

Glory to God
Christ, not Santa Claus

Here's the deal.

We've been working on this Christmas CD in Spanish for over a year now, titled "Desde el Trono al Pesebre (From the Throne to the Manger)."

We need an album cover. We have a few ideas; now we just need to turn those ideas into artwork. Can you do it?

Here's what we want to see:

The title of the album is "From the throne to the manger,” the throne being the throne of God, and the manger being the birthplace of Jesus. We want both the throne and the manger to be represented in the album cover artwork.

The center of attention will be a manger scene. Keep it simple. Mary, Joseph, maybe a few animals, and of course baby Jesus in the manger. We don't need wise men, shepherds, or angels; we're just hoping to keep it basic and beautiful. This will cover "the manger" part of the title. For inspiration, you might want to find a Bible and read Luke Chapter 2 verses 1 to 21.

Above and off to the upper left of the manger scene is where we’d like to have the throne of God represented. Normally this is clouds opening up and shedding some sort of heavenly light on the manger and Jesus. We want you to use your creativity. What is the throne of God? Moses saw a burning bush.

Feel free to add your own style to it, but we do want the general feel of the art to be real.

Laid on top of the artwork will be our group name and the title of the album. Remember, our group name is "Alegría" and the album title is "Desde el Trono al Pesebre." We don’t have any preference about the lettering-style or specific location of the words. As long as it stands out and looks good, we're happy.

Here are some other requirements from CD Baby, the distribution company we are working with:

“In order to upload your cover art to us it must be:
1400 x 1400 pixels minimum; 3000 x 3000 pixels maximum
PNG, GIF, JPG, or JPEG file type
72 - 300dpi (300dpi is the best)
Less than 25mb
RGB color scheme (not CMYK)
Unique to this particular title. We cannot accept artwork that has been used for another title.
Uploaded image must match your physical album cover artwork.
IMPORTANT: If your artist name and the title of your album or single appear on your cover artwork, it MUST precisely match the information you provided for this project.

Please keep in mind that we might also make some 36 in by 24 in posters, therefore we will need high enough quality of your image.

You can put your signature on the art if you want, as long as it is not too big or takes away from the cover focus. We will also put your name in the credits for album artwork.

Please submit your idea or ideas. We will possibly give comments or suggestions for some rework to the artist we like the best.

If we pick your work we will pay you a first milestone of $75. Then we will possibly ask you for additional adjustments or rework. When we are satisfied we will pay a second milestone of $75. The total contest is $150.

There is no second or third place.

Copyright:
we expect the copyright for the completed work to transfer to Alegría. We will have the right to put your work on our album cover, on posters and fliers, and all other locations and media we believe to be appropriate at no extra cost.

I have added a few files to look at. The three Rothkos could maybe be God. Honestly, I do not see God as an old man sitting on a chair. I see glorious light and love. I have also added a simple manger to the cross scene, beate-heinen. I like the style. Imagine the manger to the cross scene as a three-panel scene, Throne, Manger, Cross. We know what the Manger and Cross panels look like. What does the first panel, Throne of God, to the, second panel, the manager look like? I can see a Rothko Beate Heinen blend.
