Descrizione del concorso

Walpole Primary is a small, country school that epitomises the best that a school can offer. The teachers are very experienced and continually strive to provide a 21st century education. The curriculum delivered is broad and deep, allowing the opportunity for students to extend and build on their knowledge. Lessons link to the local community and the wonderful natural environment in which the school is positioned.

Our students love to grow their own vegetables, care for chickens and aquaculture and cook their produce each week. There are natural areas to play in as well as built structures that enhance movement, cooperation and challenge. We are one large family.

Walpole PS is looking for a logo that reflects the vision for the school utilising a tree style formation with a clean, clear, modern and fun feel as our students are primary aged (under 12 years) with an excitement for life and boundless energy. Although we still need to ensure a professional constraint as well.

Our new uniform is royal blue and white, while the tshirt has a touch of aqua - see attached image.

The School Board have specifically chosen the Tingle Tree as the icon as it only grows in Walpole. The Eucalyptus jacksonii can grow up to 75m high and have a girth of up to 24m wide. The larger tingles are over 400 years old. We do not want just any tree, we need to ensure we honour our local icon in this design. Please see attached for images of this iconic and well renowned tree.

Our vision statement is 'Nature, Culture, Future'. These three words symbolise the way we approach education being local issues with a global perspective; community involvement; hands on learning; inquiring minds; environmental awareness; linking to the past, the present and the future.

Logo
This is a new brand along with a new uniform style used for standard items such as
* printed mediums
* sewn onto fabric
* screen printed
* digital media

For Printed material this logo will need both our township name of 'Walpole' and our vision words of 'Nature' 'Culture' and 'Future' please.

For uniforms, the logo will only need our township name of 'Walpole'.

Both horizontal and vertical logos are required for printed and digital uses.

Formats
The winner will need to provide the logo/s in standard colour, black n white both positive and negative, greyscale both positive and negative, eps, infinite expansion, jpeg, gif and pdf formats. Please allow a 5mm white space border/buffer surrounding the perimeter of our design when formatting the logo.

The winner will pass ownership/copyright of the design to the school.

Although not our focus, we are aware that as a rural school we compete for new intakes of students with Denmark Primary and Manjimup Primary. We would like new parents to recognise us instantly and be able to visualise some of our focussed learning principles using the logo as a promotional tool.

    It is important that the tree is easily recognisable as a tingle tree. A generic tree is not suitable.
